This month the library will show free movies for adults on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. The first movie stars Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment. The
second stars Mel Gibson, James Garner, and Jody Foster. Licensing restrictions prevent us from advertising titles here, but more info is available on our website. We hope you can join us on movie night at the library for free movie and popcorn.
On the surveys for last year’s challenge several asked for a later meeting time for the Reading Round-Up book club. This month we are going to try a second book club on Thursday, April 13th from 4:30-6 pm. Everyone is invited to attend, even if you attend the regular meeting on the 6th...you are welcome to the late meeting also. It will run just like the regular club, so plan to stay the entire time, or come when you can and stay as long as you have time. If you stay till six, you may as well enjoy the free movie and popcorn too.
Now for the released tasks for this month for the Adult Reading Challenge:
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865. There have been 3 other United States presidents assassinated while in office. For the first released task this month read any book that contains the assassination or attempted assassination of a United States president. If you are reading fiction and the book is about a fictitious president but there is an assassination or attempted assassination it will count for this task.
The second task this month is humor. April is national humor month, so read any book that you find humorous. A well-developed sense of humor is a must in trying times so pick something that tickles your funny bone. The best thing about this task-you decide what is funny to you, so you can read anything that makes you laugh.
