Are you a Lucky Ducky?

You’ve got to ask yourself…do you feel DUCKY?

The Volunteer Center of Morgan County will hold its 2015 Ducky Derby & Amazing Duck Race at 6pm on August 21st as part of 3rd Friday Downton.  The Amazing Duck Race – inspired by the CBS TV show “The Amazing Race” – will challenge teams of four to complete mental and physical challenges at locations throughout downtown Decatur.  Those who compete will have a “quacking good time” tackling the fun and adventurous tasks.

The other part of this event, and the reason you’re reading about this event on the Library blog, is the Ducky Derby.  Here’s how it works:  you “adopt” a Duck ($5 per Ducky, or a 6 “quack” for $25) and your Duck is assigned a number.  At the Derby, the Duckies will race in the fountain outside the Old State Bank building.  The Volunteer Center has two AMAZING grand prizes and 20 other awesome prizes to award to the winning ducks.

Which brings us to Duck adoption….   If you’re going to adopt a Ducky, please do so here at the Library!  For every Ducky purchased here, the Volunteer Center will give the Library a share of the proceeds.  You can get your Ducks at our Circulation Desk for $5 each, or you can purchase a 6-Quack for $25.

We hope you’ll adopt your Ducky from us and that you’ll come see us at 3rd Friday!
